(Kennedy, John and Jacqueline) 1961 Official Christmas Card. Presidential Christmas card. designed by Hallmark for the White House: 6 7/8" x 5 7/8" white card stock with a 3½" wide green silk-screen border, bearing an embossed Presidential Seal and "Season's Greetings 1961" on the cover and the sentiment : "With wishes for a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year" inside, followed by secretarial signatures of President and Mrs. Kennedy. According to Mary Seeley's definitive book Season's Greetings From The White House, only 150 cards with this greeting were ordered, intended for heads of state with whom the Kennedys were acquainted. Another 800 cards were ordered with the same cover but with the sentiment: "The President and Mrs. Kennedy wish you a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year," and another 100 were ordered with no reference to Christmas. This card, one of 150, is in very good condition; there is some soiling to the cover and a 1" split at the bottom of the seam. A rare memento.
