Puccini, Giacomo (1858-1924) Italian operatic composer. Among his operas, most of which have tragic love themes, are Manot Lescaut (1893), La Bohème (1896), Tosca (1900), Madame Butterfly (1904), and La fanciulla del west (1910). AMuQS from Tosca, in black ink on a postcard illustrating a scene from Tosca and bearing a 1901 Italian postmark. The other side is addressed in Puccini's hand to Signor Pittore Delhermino in Florence. Very fine; minor toning; matted and double framed so that both sides are visible; frame has some damage at the lower edge and upper right edge, not affecting the postcard. The overall size is 13"x11¼". This is one of the premier Puccini musical quotations which are beoming increasingly scarce.
