Cruikshank, George (1792-1978) Member of a famous English family of caricaturists and artists; he made many book illustrations for Charles Dickens. ALS ("Geo Cruikshank"), 3pp, 5½" x 3½", 263 Hampstead Road, London, 1866 Nov. 6, 1866. To F.W. Cosens, saying "I was at your office…today with one of the title pages to 'Oliver Twist'….The one I have done is that where there are several of the subjects copied - amounting to 13….we can decide whether I shall do the other - or something else…."
