Phoenicia, Akko-Ptolemais. Valerian I, 253-260 AD. AE 26 mm. Rare. Laureate bust right, shoulder covered by round shield. Reverse: Hexastyle temple; within central arch, Tyche left, crowned by Nike; reclining river god in exergue. Cf. Kadman IV, 233 var. (different bust type); SNG Cop. --; BMC --. Finely struck, on choice metal. Dark olive patina, with dusky green highlights. Attractive, and vastly superior to the Kadman example. Very Fine.
