Colombia. Cob 8 Escudos, 1748-SF. Fr-6; KM-26; Although not listed by Lopez-Chavez it was recorded in all traditional references. Listed by Calico 'Numismatica Espanola, 1998', where it is valued as the rarest date of the type. Struck at the Bogota Mint. Ferdinand VI, 1746-1759. Crowned arms. Reverse Jerusalem cross in quadrilobe. From the famous Superior ANA sale of August 1975, lot 2440 where it realized $4,200 at that time. Unique and of the highest rarity. NGC graded EF-40.
