Lot 380

Great Britain. Sixpence, 1624. S.2670. James I, 1603-1625. Third coinage (1619-25). Sixth bust. Mint mark, Trefoil. The lettering style is crude and classic, "of its age," but deeply cut. An incredible sharpness of detail that is almost never seen in these sixpence issues. Enhanced by lovely medium gray toning, makes for a most pleasing example. NGC graded EF-45.
Estimated Value $800 - 1,000.
The Dr. Robert Hesselgesser Collection.
