Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, AR Tetradrachm (17.07 g), Salamis mint, c. 315-306 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle; at left, upright rudder and monogram; different monogram (re-engraved) beneath throne. Price 3169 var. A neat, well-struck coin from a less common mint, with appealing devices and handsomely toned. Some minor die rust noted on obverse. Choice Very Fine.
