Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, AR Tetradrachm (17.16 g), Babylon mint, struck c. 323-320 BC. Struck under Perdikkas. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle; M at left; ΛY beneath throne. Price 3692. Neat, high relief devices fully struck -- some doubling to reverse. Fine, even iridescent toning. The pretty obverse is distinctive to the Babylon issues, and among the most attractive in the whole Alexandrine series. Nearly Extremely Fine.
