This is the popular "Transition" Indian cent that enploys the identical obverse and reverse designs of 1859 but with the date 1858. Perhaps a few hundred are known. Collectors often put one in a set of Indian Cents to surprise and delight their friends who haven't heard about the "1858" Indian cent! (PCGS # 11885) .
