Lot 2693

1916 Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. NGC graded MS-61. A brilliant and totally white example. Always in demand. The key date to the series. One would be hard pressed to locate a more attractive 1916 standing Liberty quarter at the MS61 level, even if one were to search a dozen major coin shows back to back. The satin frosted, ice white surfaces seem like a blizzard come alive. There are some minor surface imperfections as might be expected, but nothing that disturbs. Moreover, the rims are very choice. Even the finest, most delicate detail is found on this attractive coin struck with uncommon exactness for a 1916; were it only possibly for all the design to be as sharp as the lettering and outer areas on all such pieces, but that isn't standard for this date.
Estimated Value $11,000 - 12,000.

Realized $14,663
