1897 Barber Quarter Dollar. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo. A fully white superb Gem Proof. Occasionally, we come across an extra special Proof of this Type. Barber's formal portrait of Liberty is heavily frosted, so much so that the grading service reserves the term "Ultra Cameo" for coins like these. Liberty's profile is extraordinary. As is the reverse eagle, and a bright sheen of rich silvery freshness graces the devices and fields on both sides. The mirrors are deep and reflective, almost impossible to comprehend to anyone never having seen a coin in this condition. With extraordinary cameo contrast being the result, the mint outdid itself when striking this coin.
