Lot 2627

1818/5 Capped Bust Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-62. B-1. Attraactive medium gold and natural blue toning on both sides. A satiny well-toned Mint State with resilient underlying luster that merges nicely into the "antique" colors. From center to periphery, the coin is generally well struck with just a hint of weakness at the overlap of the left edge of the shield with the eagle's wing. Stars are all sharp. Ten die varieties this year from a mintage of 361,174; the 1818/5 overdate is the most impressive of these. Pop 3; 32 finer (PCGS # 5323) .
Estimated Value $3,800 - 4,000.

Realized $4,255
