1796 Draped Bust Dime. NGC graded MS-63. JR-6. This is the so-called hyphenated date variety because of the die break through the date. Well struck and very attractively toned with alternating shades of reddish-gold and grayish-blue. The obverse exhibits a very interesting bisecting die crack from star one thru the date up into the bust and out at star eight. Popular first year of issue and always in great demand. Pop 18; 33 finer with 18 in 64, 7 in 65, 7 in 66, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 4461) .
