Macedonia. Under Roman Rule, after 168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.95 g). Macedonian shield with right facing bust of Artemis at center, bow and quiver at shoulder, bordering star and crescent motif. Reverse: Club of Herakles within oak wreath; ethnic above and below. SNG Cop. 1310; SNG Ashmolean 3290ff. Bust in pretty style. Some old or ancient scratches on obverse fields. Areas of deep gray, and colorful red and gold toning. Also, a Nomos (7.78 g), of Tarentum, c. 302-281 BC. Youth crowning standing horse right / Taras on dolphin left, holding tripod; Vlasto 666. Nicely styled reverse; faintly toned. Lot of 2 coins. First a Very Fine plus; second, Fine / Very Fine.
