Greco-Bactrian Kingdom. Demetrios I, c. 200-185 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.02 g). Diademed and draped bust right, wearing elephant's skin headdress. Reverse: Herakles standing facing, crowning himself with right hand, holding club and lion's skin with left; ΦΛ monogram at center-left. SNG ANS 192; MACW --. Excellent metal and strike, the slight doubling at chin hardly noticeable. Good style -- particularly the elephant and Herakles. Choice! Choice Very Fine.
