Lot 70

1806 Draped Bust Half Cent. Large 6, stems. . C-4 R1. AU-55. Lustrous golden light olive with sea-green overtones. The reverse shows a dozen small spots of darker reddish chocolate brown toning scattered about and the obverse has a single spot of similar toning under the right foot of the R in LIBERTY. A few tiny contact marks in the field close before the chin are the only other defects worthy of mention. E-MDS, Manley state 1.0, with strong repunching visible on the 6. Better struck than most of this variety. The bust tip shows only trivial weakness, as do the upper terminal leaves under ES in STATES, and everything else is well struck. The reverse is rotated 20 degrees clockwise.
Estimated Value $750 - 1,000.
