Mexico. 8 Escudos, 1733-Mo F. Fr-8; KM-148. Philip V, 1700-1746. Large armored bust to right. Reverse: Crowned Hapsburg arms within chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Very Rare date. ICG graded AU-53.

In 1732, the Mexico City mint commenced a series of modifications in the method of coin manufacture in compliance with the Spanish decrees of 1728 and 1729. As the first milled-edge doubloon of the New World, this type is extremely popular. The first two dates of the series are very rare.
