Transylvania. Ducat, 1609. Fr-336; Resch-18v,KM-62. Klausenburg mint. 3.30 grams. 21.9 mm. Gabriel Bathori, 1608-1613. Armoured bare headed half bust right with scepter, C-V at either side. Leg: GAB: BATHORI: D:G: TRAN: PRI: Reverse: Crowned arms of Bathori surrounded by dragon biting his tail. Leg: PAR: REG:HV:DO (castle) ET:SI:CO:1609. NGC graded MS-61.

Gabriel Bathori was a terrible prince; known as a tyrant to his subjects. Numismatically, his short reign produced few coins, all are rare.
