Zürich. Ducat, ND (c.1580). Fr-440. 3.46 grams. 22.30 mm. Obv: Saints Regula and Felix standing and carrying their heads. Leg: + --S REGVLA --- S. FELIX. Reverse: Charlemagne seated on throne with orb and cross in left hand. Well struck with considerable luster. Very Rare. NGC graded MS-64.

In the folklore of Zurich, Felix and Regula were Roman Christians who fled to Zurich after their legions were destroyed at Valois. They were then decapitated there for refusing to worhsip the Roman gods. They then picked up their heads and placed them at their chosen burial site.
