Breslau (City). Goldgulden, 1526. Fr-442; Saurma-Jeltsch-Pl. XXXXI,#17. 3.53 grams. 21.53 mm. Breslau. City coinage. Obv. St. Wenceslas armored with scepter sword and shield standing within beaded inner circle. Leg: S*WENCESL - AUS *D*B* Reverse:Bohemian lion within inner circle. Leg: Shield *MO*AVR*VRATISLAVIEN*1526. Very Rare. NGC graded MS-61.

Such an early dated Goldgulden as is found here is very highly sought after. The fact that St. Wenceslas is clothed in armor speaks to the tumult of the times.
