Bamberg. Ducat, 1657. Fr-167; KM-46. 3.46 grams. 23.32 mm. Philipp Valentin Voit von Rieneck, 1653-1672. Bust portrait right. Leg: PHILIPP.VALENTIN.D:G:EPI:BAMBERG. Reverse: Two shields crowned. No legend. Date and cross at bottom. Lustrous. Rare. NGC graded MS-62.

Bamberg was a bishopric just north of Bavaria. Often overshadowed by the neighboring bishopric of Wurzburg. Its coins are scarce and highly sought after. Ducats of this area are seldom offered.
