Augsburg. Ducat, 1689. Fr-71; KM-97. 3.46 grams. 21.35 mm. Mintmark, two horseshoes (Johann Christoph Holesisen, 1668-1697). In the name of Leopold I, 1657-1705. Obv. Bust of Leopold "The Hogmouth" right. Leg: LEOPOLDVS.AVG. - IMP.CAESAR.P.F. 1689. Reverse: Bust of Eleonora Magdalene left. Leg: *ELEONORA.MAG.TERES.C.P.R.B.I.C.E.M.D.ROM.IMP. A lovely double portrait ducat. NGC graded MS-61.

Leopold was married three times. His third wife, Eleanora, princess of Pfalz, was the only one to produce sons for him. In fact, his two sons, Joseph and Karl, both became emperors in the early part of the 18th century.
