From Heritage's World Coin Auction, Volume 1, January 7-8, 2007, New York, Lot 52047 and described as follows: Victoria Dollar 1866, KM-10, Pridmore 1A, Proof, spectacular deep blue-green and russet patina with meticulously sharp design details and mirrored surfaces. Very rare as a Proof and certainly one of the finest known. Estimate: $15,000-$20,000.
In our opinion, this indeed is a spectacular coin! The obverse exhibits full mirror fields consistant with a proof while the reverse is better described as Gem Mint State.
