Great Britain. Crown, 1821. S.3805; ESC-247; KM-680.1; H.W.A. Linecar and A.G. Stone - English Proof and Pattern Crown Size Pieces - ref. P.59 No.10. George IV. Laureate head of King left. Reverse: St. George slaying dragon. Date 1821 in exergue. Inverted die axis. Edge reads: DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI SECUNDO ('An ornament and a safeguard. In the second year of our reign'.) Distinguished by its mirror fields and razor sharp edge and design detail, this coin is truly rare. A pleasing example with deep blue grey toning. NGC graded Proof 63.
