Licinius I, 308-324 AD. Gold Aureus (5.29 g), Nicomedia mint, struck 317-318 AD. Very Rare! Laureate head right. Reverse: Jupiter stands left on high platform, holding long scepter and Victory, eagle at feet; platform inscribed in two lines: SIC.X / SIC XX. Legend: IOVI CONS. LICINI AVG. In exergue: SMNE; additional wreath in right field. RIC --; C. --; Calico 5103a; another specimen, Auktion Tkalec (11-19-2001), lot 373. Finely centered and struck, from fresh dies. Lustrous and choice! Brilliant Mint State.
