Hadrian, 117-138 AD. AR Cistophoric Tetradrachm (10.76 g), Nicomedia mint, struck after 128 AD. Bare head of Hadrian right. Reverse: Tetrastyle temple with statuary figure within: cloaked male holding long scepter and image of Victory. RIC 459b; Metcalf, Cistophori, type B6, 24 var. (unlisted dies); BMCRE 1097. Neatly struck on compact round flan, with very good portrait. Lightly toned. Nearly Extremely Fine.
