Domitian, 81-96 AD. AE As, Rome mint, struck 88 AD. Laureate head right. Reverse: Togate Domitian stands left, before temple, and sacrificing at lit and draped altar, with two musicians at left, playing lyre and flute; COS XIIII LVD SAEC FEC, SC. RIC 385a; BMCRE 434; C. 85. Well struck and centered, on almost round flan. Fine portrait, with handsome reverse device - - among the more interesting of Domitian's numismatic motifs. Nice black-brown patina, with touches of green and red. Nearly Extremely Fine.
