Cilicia. Tarsos. Datames, as Satrap, c. 384-360 BC. AR Stater (10.29 g.), struck c. 369-361 BC. Baaltars seated right, holding grains and grapes, thymiaterion at right, all within crenellated border. Reverse: Within enclosure, nude Ana right facing Datames, thymiaterion between. Moysey Issue 5; SNG von Aulock 5948. Some weakness to Baaltars' face, but the reverse outstanding and sharp. Small areas of faint smoothing in fields. Lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
