Calabria, Tarentum, c. 380-345 BC. AR Nomos (7.99 g). Evans Period III. On galloping horse right, a nude youth holds small buckler and is about to dismount; beneath, Δ. Reverse: Taras on dolphin left, holding trident; beneath, a K, and border of waves. SNG ANS 931. A superior strike, super sharp details, with lovely iridescent toning -- almost a lime-gold to russet in the recesses. Struck from artistic, quality dies. Highly lustrous and handsome! Superb Extremely Fine.
