Lot 2697

Ascalon. Antoninus Pius, 138-161 C.E. AE 20 minted 151/2 C.E. . Rosenberger III, supp. 29. Laureate head right of Antoninus Pius. Reverse: Tyche standing left. Nearly Extremely Fine.

The four Rosenberger volumes are milestones in the study of Jewish city coinage. While there are numerous errors, poor photos, and organizational difficulties (plus the bindings are terrible!), they still form major references for the series. Sadly, they have been out of print for a long while; an updated version would be happily received by the numismatic community.
Estimated Value $175 - 275.

Realized $173
