1870 Pattern Half Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. . J-957. . P-1108. PCGS graded Proof 64. Mostly untoned. A choice, glittering coin. Struck in silver with a reeded edge, J-957 is part of the extensive and widely collected STANDARD SILVER series. On the obverse is a head of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed LIBERTY in raised letters with one star. The reverse has 50 CENTS 1870 in a wreath of cotton and corn, STANDARD above. Pop 8; none finer at PCGS. Rarity 5. (PCGS # 61203) .
