A wonderful Gem Proof coin, and part of an extensive series of so-called trial-strike Proofs struck on various off-metal planchets such as copper, nickel, or aluminum. Always rare, seldom offered, eagerly sought by generations of coin collectors. This could well be the finest known (PCGS # 70798) .
