Lot 1375

1888-S Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Mostly untoned. There is little criticism that can be directed at the gleaming surfaces of this Gem-quality coin as they highly attractive. The mint frost is radiant in the way it "cartwheels" over each side. All 1888-S silver dollars were carefully made; that isn't the point. Most which are very sharply struck, like this marvel of precision minting, will delight the eye with their detail. No, the important point is that few have this coin's overall superlative state of preservation and eye-appeal, which sets it apart. Pop 197; 20 finer, 18 in 66, 2 in 67 (PCGS # 7186) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,100.

Realized $2,013
