Lot 1013

1937-D Buffalo Nickel. 3 legs. NGC graded MS-63 F.S. 020.2. Well struck and lightly toned. A original example of this unusual minting aberration! The matte-like surfaces are lightly toned rather than bright with volatile nickel-white luster, with typical appearance as though it the dies were heavily worked (which, indeed, they were). Higher quality than average for a 3-Legs buffalo nickel and easily matching or surpassing others sometimes seen in MS64 labeled grading holders (PCGS # 3982) .
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,000.
