Inlaid Steatite Scarab. Egypt, New Kingdom, c. 1550-1070 BC. Neatly carved scarab, the beetle's thorax and wing cases each inletted and set with a shaped piece of blue, green, and red glass or paste. Base depicts a representation of the King adoring Ptah and Sekhmet, winged solar disc above. Scarab in very good preservation. Length: 16.9 mm.
