George Washington, Hand-Colored Engraving. Outstanding full-length portrait of General Washington, holding the Declaration of Independence and the Treaty of Alliance with France, as his slave tends to his horse in the background. Originally published in Rouen in the 1780s, taken after a painting by Charles Wilson Peale, this appears to be a later restrike. Print is 16¼" x 12¼"; housed in a light blue 21¼" x 17½" matte.
