1856 Biography of Washington - Complete Set Of 45 Journals. A biography of Washington by Rufus Griswold, in subscription journal form, 45 issues, each 10" x 7", each carrying two engraved plates (90 total) covering the life of Washington and a portrait gallery of the Revolution, 604 pages, plus an analytical index. Published by Virtue, Emmins & Co., New York, 1856. Overall very good; some dark toning to covers. Includes portraits of Washington by Peale, Trumbull, and Stuart, as well as portraits of all the best known American and British generals, and dozens of historic scenes and incidents in the life of Washingrton. All but two issues have their original paper covers.
