(1828) Holt's American Plantations Farthing or 1/24 Real Restrike. . Breen-78. PCGS graded MS-62. Frosty light silvery gray with a few small patches of darker toning where there is shallow corrosion, mostly at the front legs of the horse. The corrosion is fully arrested, void of any active "tin pest" or powery residue. Sharply struck everywhere except at the very top of the reverse. These pieces were struck from the original 1688 dies that were used to produce the first royally authorized coinage for the British colonies in America. PCGS population 5 at this grade with 5 others slightly finer in MS63.
