1776 Continental Currency. "CURENCY". Pewter. . Newman 1-C Rarity-3 . PCGS graded AU-55. Glossy medium steel gray with frosty light silvery gray toning in protected areas. Very nice for the grade, free of any marks, planchet flaws, or "tin pest" corrosion. Sharply struck showing all the fine die details. The die crack down the left side of the obverse is strong and the reverse is rotated 135 degrees CCW relative to a head-to-foot orientation. A choice example in all respects. PCGS population 5 in this grade with 54 finer.
Estimated Value $20,000 - 40,000.

Realized $40,250
