Lot 492

1822 Coronet Head Cent. . N-1, R3. EF-45. Very attractive glossy chocolate and medium brown. The reverse is several shades lighter than the obverse, and there is frosty luster remaining in protected areas. A few small spots of reddish toning around the E in ONE and several tiny nicks on the neck are the notable defects. Late die state. The fields are smooth and slightly reflective thanks to a fresh die lapping, but traces of reverse die rust remain.
Estimated Value $300 - 600.
Ex Philip Van Cleave, Kagin's 1/30/86:5431-Jan Valentine 12/26/86-Jim Corrado.
