1925-S $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-63. Nice golden toning on both sides. The extensive melting of 1925-S Saint-Gaudens $20 gold pieces causes it to be one of the few branch mint issues from this rarely seen in Mint condition. Even marginal quality Uncirculated pieces are seen far less often other S-mint counterparts from the 1920s. This frosty Mint State 63 example far excels the normally encountered certified coin in its class, being lustrous under a uniform display of pale orange toning. We note a hint of softness on the high point of Liberty's gown, her knee; and several characteristic die cracks occur in the outer areas, but surface marks are kept to a minimum for the '63 grade and the overall visual appeal is first-rate.
