Lot 264

1794 Liberty Cap Cent. . S-48, R5. Good-4 Starred Reverse. Much sharper, perhaps VF20 where not affected by roughness, but the planchet is mostly porous. The roughness ranges from faint to moderate, strongest at the date which has only faint portions of a couple numerals remaning. No verdigris or notable signs of contact. The legends are complete, although ERI in AMERICA is very faint. The rims are complete and all 94 of the tiny stars are visible, although some are weak or distorted by the roughness. The color is a decent and partially glossy chocolate brown with medium brown toning on the highpoints. M-LDS, Breen state III. Far from perfect, but very few are known with all the stars visible. Noyes graded VF20 net AG3, his photo #31490.
Estimated Value $7,500 - 15,000.
