Lot 2418

1882-CC $10 Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. Lightly toned. A beautiful, near-mint state example of this underrated Carson City rarity -- the scarcest CC eagle made after 1879. While a handful of BU pieces are reported in the population statistics, few are as attractive as this nicely toned About Uncirculated 58, and precious few in that grade. The surfaces have a warm peach-gold color and show much remaining mint luster. Quite well struck with only minor surface marks noted on and around the face of Liberty. An important absolute as well as condition rarity in the With Motto Liberty eagle series. Only 6,764 minted. Pop 32; 3 finer;; 2 in 61; 1 in 62.
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Realized $10,350
