Lot 2409

1875-CC $10 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-53. PCGS holder 21169999. Traces of luster about the devices. Lightly toned with a few marks on the face and in the upper right obverse field. Observation has it that most Carson City collectors are well aware of the absolute rarity most dates in the 1870s, including the rarity of the 1875-CC. Few, however, ever get the chance to appreciate the "condition" scarcity of this key issue. Only a handful of pieces are believed known in AU condition, per the supplied census, few making their way to market in any year. The peach-gold surfaces show typical abrasions for this normally heavily marked issue. Thin remnants of mint luster can still be seen, mostly around the reverse legends and obverse devices. An exceptionally rare Carson City $10 in very high grade. Pop 6; 6 finer; 4 in 55; 1 in 58; 1 in 62. (PCGS # 8673) .
Estimated Value $20,000 - 25,000.
