Lot 127

1792 Idler Copy of the Getz Pattern for a Washington Cent with Small Eagle Reverse. . Kenney-1. VG-8. Rather glossy light to medium brown with reddish brown toning in protected areas. There are some light contact marks consistent with the grade, including a rim bruise below the date. The date is clear and the legends are readable although a couple letters are very weak. Genuine original examples of the Getz patterns are prohibitively rare, and William Idler of Philadelphia had a limited quantity of copies struck circa 1860 to satisfy collector demand. These copies are rare and highly desired by collectors today. Weight 210.4 grains.
Estimated Value $75 - 150.

Realized $510
