1887 Liberty Nickel. NGC graded Proof 65. Nice untoned coin. Moon-glow bright pearl-gray dancing luster radiates on both sides of this refreshingly original, uncleaned example The imprint that was left by the dies on 1887 Proofs often lacks a certain clarity, one might almost call it mushy, but it is normal for this date; what is most edifying to us as we discuss the coin's merits is that this particular Gem Proof has razor-sharp devices on both sides. Take that as an added bonus if you are acquiring a date set of these attractive Proof nickel five-cent pieces. 2,960 Proofs struck. Pop 151; 45 finer; 41 in 66; 4 in 67. (PCGS # 3885) .
Estimated Value $500 - 525.
