1783 Washington & Independence Cent Draped Bust without Button Taylor Restrike in Copper with Center-Grained Edge. . Br-1193. PCGS graded Proof 65 Brown. Attractive medium reddish brown. The strike is very sharp, as usual, and the eye appeal is excellent. The only marks are a couple microscopic ticks high on the cheekbone and a barely visible spot of fine carbon hidden in the drapery at the base of the seated figure. The edge is center-grained (recessed diagonal reeding around the center of the edge), and the bottom of the 7 is clearly repunched (Vlack 14-J). PCGS population 26 with 13 finer.
