Lot 916

A Humdinger Lot of Antique Silver Flatware. U.S.A., and Elsewhere, 19th - early 20th century. Spoons (and other items) without end! From dinner ware to exotic utensils whose past uses are now shrouded in mystery. Many of U.S. manufacture, but a good amount are foreign - - from porcelain-handled and gilt German spoons, to a small fine set of Chinese export cutlery (perhaps 1920's-1930's). Also some in silver plate, or unknown metal, plus a few small vessels, napkin rings, and other contraptions. Besides an old Tiffany spoon, there is a Tiffany salt shaker, but made of sterling sheet over a wood core! Condition generally very fine or better, but inspection suggested, since this is used material. But dig in anyway, you'll like it. Over 10 lbs. of silver!
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
Irving Goodman, Personal Collection.
