Impressive Japanese Meiji Period Incense Burner. Bronze, 29" high, ca. 1880-1910. The multi-level urn-like bottom portion on a base is all one piece with a removeable eagle and snake cap having a pierced flower design to allow the flow of incense. Birds, flora and mythical beast head side handles enhance the overall design. Excellent condition.
