Cox, David. Untitled Landscape. (1783-1859) Scottish landscape painter in watercolor and oil. Original watercolor, c. early 19th century, 10¼x14", on trimmed paper, matted to 16x20". A rugged landscape in which a rider approaches a large fortress. The suggested movement of the clouds show Cox' mastery of painting wind. Fine except for matt burns on back of paper. A fine impression of place and mood.
